What people say about Alter Ego

93 reviews
  • This pecan pie was certainly a enjoyable one

  • The pie itself was already a tad sweet so i didn't think that all the cream was needed 😅

  • The vanilla bean ice cream combined with a dose of salted miso sauce reminded one of salted caramel

  • The mac n cheese is light and not jelat at all

  • Only downside was that the macaroni felt abit "nua" and not that well cooked

  • Clinging well to every strand of the spaghetti which was cooked till perfectly al dente

  • The slices of smoked salmon didn't taste too fresh and i think an onsen egg would have gone better with the dish than a sunny side up

  • I think this was a pretty decent one with the espresso being quite fragrant

  • If you’re with another person it’s best to share two dishes so you don’t get too sick of what you’re eating

  • The serving was huge and good for sharing

  • The melted cheese was really good and went well with the fries

  • Coupled with melted cheese and the meat that was slightly sweet

  • It was very normal though and there was nothing special about it

  • This was good but I felt that there was too little sour cream for the balance

  • This brilliant burger is a front runner for ‘best damn burger in Singapore’

  • Jumbo sized thigh fillet from and extra thick chicken is jammed between a pair of fluffy

  • The batter that the chicken is cocooned in is light and charmingly crispy

  • The chicken is slightly spicy

  • Seasoned to savory satisfaction and is outstandingly juicy

  • Soon that warm cheese is gonna squirt everywhere as you futilely fight to maintain a modicum or modesty

  • Cause this bad boy is going to rock your world and leave a massive mess

  • The cornbread was pleasantly sweet without overdoing it

  • The only complaint I had was that there wasn’t nearly enough slaw to go round

  • Pair it up with a pint of beer from the tap ($9.90 all day

  • Who can deny this when it is loaded w cheese

  • Saw reviews that this was 'finger licking good' and 'addictive'

  • It was soggy from the cheese and not crispy even when it was piping hot

  • The bacon sauce was decent though

  • I like how it was crispy and the har cheong taste was not too overpowering

  • ❤❤❤ (❤) Was expecting much more from this restaurant when I have had a good dining experience with them previously

  • The mini cake in the Southern Fried Chicken Burger is weirdly crumbly

  • The chicken in the Southern Fried Chicken Burger was however juicy enough

  • The poke bowl is quite tasteless

  • Umami Omega is still better is their standards are the same

  • Having tt one poke bowl is now not sufficient

  • The cute choc beans were a fun addition

  • Can't really go v wrong with choc cakes

  • Heard there are variations where each block has a qn and if u pick that you have to ans tt

  • Was a little apprehensive when I ordered it because I wasn’t sure how the combination was gonna turn out but this is now one of my favourite dish here

  • This curry salted egg yolk fries are doused with an extremely generous ⁣serving of sauce

  • These fries here are really addictive so be warned

  • This Chilli Cheese Dog consists of a grilled cheddar sausage topped with house made beef mince

  • Accompanied by purple slaw and curly fries which was really addictive

  • Alter Ego’s famous cheese toast now stuffed with tasty rendang recipe

  • Best to pair with achar to get the extra refreshing crunch

  • Else is to share one serving with your bestie

  • Upon looking through the reviews which overflowed with praise for the pizza fries

  • Juicy patty perched atop a buttery bun with melted cheese

  • Buttery french toast with vanilla gelato

  • Their famous grilled cheese accompanied with smoked mushrooms and caramelised onions

  • The crisp cheese toast and caramelised onions were the saving grace

  • Crispy batter that hugs tender juicy chicken meat topped with onion rings

  • Served with cornbread topped with a dollop of cinnamon frosting

  • To fried chicken skin dusted with paprika that is airy and crisp

  • Alter Ego's offerings are well executed versions of classic comfort foods

  • Though it was peak period and the food came a little slow but it was worth the wait

  • Food remains as good as it is whenever we return

  • Perhaps could come up with more new items in the menu

  • Welcoming service with friendly and attentive staff

  • Lunch sets are also available on weekdays

  • At a pocket friendly pricing of $15.90 onwards with a main and drink

  • My favourite dish among all was the southern fried chicken burger which comes with a huge slab of deep fried chicken thigh topped with nacho cheese and ranch sauce

  • It also comes with a side of tangy purple slaw and honey butter cornbread that was luscious with a soft

  • The loaded taters was sinful albeit enjoyable

  • Deep fried mini bite sized hashbrowns loaded with a generous amount of spicy jalapeno cheese

  • Would prefer if the sauces are served separately though as the tater tots below had turned soggy and lost the essential crisp factor

  • The cornflake french toast was crisp and coated with cornflakes that provided a pleasant crunch factor

  • Filled with a spread of white and dark salted chocolate ganache and served with butterscotch banana slices and macerated berries

  • Though prices are pretty steep for the dishes here

  • Great weekday lunch sets at 15.90 that comes with a decent drink (iced tea or coffee)

  • Pretty sure they have the best poke in town

  • I had a light pre concert dinner with two friends at Alter Ego

  • The service was friendly and efficient and the food good

  • The poke bowl was wholesome and good

  • Also tried the pizza fries and it was very good value for the price

  • The caramelised ikan bilis tasted wonderful too though it would be good if they served it in smaller portions as it was a bit too much for two people to share

  • Waited very very long for our food and halfway through we were told that the desserts were no longer available and we were asked to switch the 2 desserts to sides instead without charge

  • None of us eat chicken skin and these were the only sides on the Vday set

  • We wanted to change to something else on the sides menu that was outside of the Vday set

  • What we chose were cheaper than $8 but were told that if we wanted to change to these cheaper sides

  • We had to top up the full price because these were out of menu

  • Already we were picking cheaper ones and the sides menu are available for ordering that day

  • Tried to explain and all these happened while we were still waiting for the rest of our food which took approx 45mins to fully arrive

  • So get coffee/tea with your order

  • If you want also are able to eat some "sinful" but super delicious sides

  • What I really love about this cafe/bar is its two sided menu where one side offers 'eat clean' options of pre set poke bowls and smoothies

  • My level of determination was high enough to select their poke bowls HAHA I've gotten the Umami Omega ($17) which comprises of spicy garlic sesame salmon on sushi rice

  • I liked how each topping is fresh and given in appropriate amounts so that you always get a satisfying mouthful of everything

  • I would get the non spicy poke bowls next time as I felt that the spice became really overwhelming towards the end and I was practically fighting against it

  • This is definitely the place to go with a group of friends with varying dietary preferences

  • One thing that I love about Alter Ego is the fact that their dishes doesn't only look good but also taste great

  • The pulled shortribs that were sandwiched also made it clear that I get a good dose of protein

  • NA (Drinks are quite personal ^^)
