What people say about Le Binchotan

30 reviews
  • Expectations were set high with the word burnt

  • Fried food always goes well with creamy truffle sauce

  • Pickled daikon was smart to cut the richness of the dish

  • Matcha ice cream with azuki filling

  • We also got a couple of sumiyaki sticks at le binchotan and this is the wagyu sumiyaki stick ($16) a little pricy as you can see but if you’re feeling like a baller it is pretty good

  • That withering look with the chilling phrase of “do I look like I want to eat a burger

  • Not too bad for a random restaurant choice the beef for the main dish was way better than the signature binchotan

  • Our only gripe was that this plate was not enough for 2 gluttons like us

  • This humble Hokkien mee is seriously so good

  • The limited series event sees Chef Jeremmy Chiam collaborating with various guest stars (ArChan Chan of LeVeL33

  • While the guest chefs' creations are only available during their individual weekends

  • Jeremmy's own dishes are available every Friday and Saturday

  • ArChan will be doing her Stir fried Clams with homemade XO Sauce for her special main

  • Jeremmy has teamed up with 3 special friends to bring us some special supper dishes

  • Zhnged up hokkien mee is served from 9.30pm onwards this August at the French Japanese restaurant and trust me it a steal at the $18 tag

  • The broth used to cook the noodles is an umami bomb (cooked using prawn and lobster heads and shells)

  • Chef Jeremmy is so kind to even serve a carafe of it with each plate

  • Beneath that generous heap of bafun uni is silky Japanese corn mousse and caviar

  • Just that I had to reconcile that the mousse below is sweet (since corn is used)

  • Warm and comforting make out session with an adorable Shiba Inu

  • Everyone at the table was eyeing the last piece

  • 35 seater joint is the latest addition to the now thriving Gemmill Lane back alley

  • Its meats and seafood are cooked over binchotan (white charcoal) shipped from Japan

  • These skewers of uber tender Wagyu Striploin ($15 a stick) were grilled over white charcoal (that's how the name bin chotan came about) and was the highlight of my night

  • Here you get French inspired Izakaya styled dishes married with cocktails of quirky names

  • The shaved goose liver is served with daikon (radish) and dashi gelee (a jelly like soup stock)

  • The chicken meat and the egg yolk were overcooked

  • The marriage of briny and sweet from the garden and sea was perfect caviar and uni with shoyu spheres on a cold roasted corn custard

  • The portion is super generous

  • With their background in French cuisine whatever they churn out is bound to be good
